Bareilly: In a groundbreaking move to promote digital empowerment and gender inclusion, the National Commission for Women (NCW) has launched Yashoda AI, India’s first dedicated AI literacy initiative for women.
Held at Mahatma Jotiba Phule Rohilkhand University, the launch marks a pivotal moment in advancing the role of women in India’s tech-driven future.
Named “Your AI SAKHI for Shaping Horizons with Digital Awareness,” the Yashoda AI Abhiyan is a pioneering national campaign designed to educate women in artificial intelligence, digital safety, and cybersecurity.
Special emphasis is placed on rural and semi-urban women, helping them become digitally self-reliant and resilient in an increasingly AI-integrated world.
“Yashoda AI is not just about learning technology—it’s about transforming confidence into leadership,” said Vijaya Rahatkar, Chairperson, NCW. “Our goal is to ensure women are not only part of the digital revolution, but leaders of it.”
Yashoda AI: Empowering Women Through Inclusive AI Literacy
The program includes:
- Awareness sessions on AI-driven online threats
- Practical learning on digital privacy and cyber hygiene
- Leadership-building workshops for students, teachers, and women in uniform
This campaign is backed by Future Shift Labs (FSL) and represents a collaboration between the public and private sectors to foster inclusive innovation. The initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat, where technology acts as a tool for social equity.
“This initiative is not just about AI literacy—it’s about dignity, inclusion, and digital independence for India’s women,” said Nitin Narang, Founder of FSL.
A National Movement for Women’s Digital Leadership
Yashoda AI also reflects India’s global leadership in responsible and inclusive AI practices, reaffirmed by the country’s participation at the Global Summit on AI Governance in Paris.
The event saw participation from top NCW officials including Ramawtar Singh, Shivani Dey, and Santosh Kulkarni, alongside Vice Chancellor Sagar Vishnoi, FSL Co-founder Pranav Dwivedi, and other dignitaries, who echoed a unified call for women-centric tech innovation.
This initiative is a landmark in building a Viksit Bharat where every woman can shape her digital destiny with knowledge, confidence, and leadership.
